Rail Travel Problems For Scotland

An overhead wire problem at Dunbar has meant rush-hour disruption for those travelling with the CrossCountry, East Coast and ScotRail train companies.

An amended service was in operation between Edinburgh and Glasgow Central/Dundee/Aberdeen and CrossCountry services travelling towards Edinburgh were terminating at Newcastle.

A limited replacement bus service was operating between Newcastle and Edinburgh.

East Coast had a reduced service running from Edinburgh towards Newcastle, but with possible delays and no trains were running into Edinburgh and services from London terminated at either Newcastle or Berwick-upon-Tweed.

A limited replacement bus service was operating between Newcastle and Edinburgh.

ScotRail services were replaced by a limited bus service between Edinburgh and Drem/North Berwick.

There were other difficulties for Scottish rail travellers due to overhead wire problems between Kilpatrick and Dalmuir, this led to disruption to journeys between Helensburgh/Balloch and Glasgow Queen Street.
