Probe launched as fire bomb is reportedly thrown at Strathaven vets

Detectives are investigating reports a fire bomb has been thrown at a vets practice in Strathaven.

They were called to the Common Green area of the town at around quarter past eight last night.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: "Officers are investigating after what is believed to be an item on fire was thrown towards a premises on Common Green, Strathaven, at around 8.15pm on Thursday, 2 December, 2021.

"Nobody was injured and a small fire was put out at the scene.

"Enquiries remain ongoing and anyone with information should contact Police Scotland on 101 and quote incident number 3196 of 2 December, or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111."
