Primal Scream's Bobby Gillespie injures back in fall from stage during concert
Primal Scream frontman Bobby Gillespie is recovering in hospital after falling off stage and injuring his back during a gig in Switzerland.
Gillespie, 53, slipped from the stage and fell into the crowd as Primal Scream played at Swiss music festival Caribana on June 2.
A message on the official Primal Scream Twitter account thanked fans for their support on Friday.
The Scottish band tweeted: ''Thanks to everyone who has asked about Bobby. We're waiting for more news, but hoping to be back on the road as soon as we get the all clear x .'
A spokesman for Gillespie told the Press Association that he could not comment on the Scottish rocker's condition.
The incident resulted in a premature end to Primal Scream's set.
Fans posted shortly after the incident to express their concern.
One person tweeted: ''Bobby Gillespie fell off the stage minutes ago. Looks bad. Hope he's OK.''
Another said: ''Bobby Gillespie just took a nasty looking tumble off the stage! Hope he's OK.''
Primal Scream, formed in 1982, are promoting their 11th studio album Chaosmosis.
The band will be playing a number of tour dates in the UK this summer.
