Posters issued by police in search for Euan Johnston's killer
Detectives investigating the shooting that resulted in the death of Euan Johnston are continuing to appeal for information as they look to local communities for help.
Police investigating a fatal shooting in Glasgow are distributing appeal posters and leaflets translated into Urdu, Punjabi, Arabic and Romanian in a bid to find the killer.
Euan Johnston, 26, was shot by the occupant of a neighbouring car while stopped at a traffic light in his black Audi RS4 on Shields Road at 11.40pm on Tuesday November 15.
Members of the public witnessed what police described as a "targeted attack" and some went to his aid along with his friend, who was a passenger in the car.
His attackers sped off in their stolen Audi Q5 which was later found burnt-out in the Parkhouse area and Mr Johnston was taken to hospital but later died.
Police said in recent days they have had "few" calls about the murder and said "speculation surrounding Euan Johnston's involvement in criminality" should not make people reluctant to come forward.
Detective Superintendent Jim Kerr said: "We hope that these posters and leaflets will jog the memories of people in the local community, who may have seen Euan on the night of the shooting, or equally they may remember seeing Euan or the Audi Q5 either on the same night or in the days before the shooting took place."
He added: "Despite previous appeals for information and widespread media coverage, we have still to trace whoever is responsible for this murder.
"In the last few days there has been few calls to the incident-room, which is slightly disappointing, although I do understand that some people may be reluctant to come forward with information.
"This was a targeted attack and it may be that the speculation surrounding Euan Johnston's involvement in criminality is making people reluctant to come forward to police.
"We have support mechanisms in place should people feel vulnerable about contacting us and I would urge people to please have the confidence and report any information they have. We can't allow these type of events to happen."
Police discovered the car used in the murder had the fake number plate VN61 LZA and was stolen from Parklands Country Club, Newton Mearns, East Renfrewshire, on May 16 with its original registration SW62 NGU.
After the shooting, it sped off into Scotland Street, West Street and then headed on to the Kingston Bridge.
It turned off the bridge at William Street, travelled along North Street and went on to the M8 eastbound at Charing Cross.
It left the motorway at the Springburn junction, continued along Springburn Road via Colston Road, Ashgill Road and then on to Bracken Street, Parkhouse, where the car was discovered on fire a short time later.
Police asked anyone with information about where the car was between being stolen and used in the murder to come forward.
Attempts to find three men seen on Balmore Road near the disused railway line shortly before midnight on the night of the shooting continue, as does the search for a dark Volkswagen Golf being driven at speed on the same road shortly after midnight the following day.
