Fire crews are flushing out sewers in the east end of Glasgow in a pollution alert that's closed down the Emirates Arena.

They received the first calls about chemical smells in the Dalmarnock area last night and they're still at the scene.

All classes at city's biggest indoor sports venue have been cancelled tonight.

Scottish Fire and Rescue Service say they were alerted to several reports of a chemical smell at 6.45pm on Wednesday, 4 January when crews attended at Swanston Street.

Then at 10.52am on Thursday they were called to a commercial premise on London Road which was evacuated and ventilated.

They were also called to the Emirates Arena on London Road which was evacuated as a precautionary measure at 11.25am.
