Three months on from an attempted murder in Shawlands, Glasgow, officers are re-appealing for information.

Around 8:10am on Thursday 9 March 2017, a 34 year-old man was getting into his car outside his house in Shawhill Road in Shawlands, when he saw a man standing at the bottom of his driveway.

As he approached him the man shot him in the leg with a firearm.

The 34 year-old man chased the suspect down Shawhill Road and turned right into Hector Road then across Pollokshaws Road.

He then turned left into St Ronan’s Drive where he got into the passenger seat of a dark coloured car. The car sped off onto Kennilworth Avenue.

The man responsible is described as 5ft 7 inches in height. He was wearing dark coloured clothing and a dark coloured beanie hat.

Detective Inspector Colin Hailstones from Cathcart Police Office said:

“Although three months have passed since this shooting took place, our investigation is continuing to trace the man responsible for this shooting.

“I am in no doubt that there are still people out there with vital information regarding this incident who, for whatever reason, are reluctant to come forward and speak to police. I’d like to assurance people that any information can be given in confidence.

“I would again appeal to anyone with information on this shooting to contact Cathcart Police Office through 101. Alternatively CRIMESTOPPERS can be contacted on 0800 555 111, where anonymity can be maintained.”
