Police Probe Into Offensive Post About Crash
Police are investigating an offensive message about the Glasgow bin lorry tragedy which was posted on Facebook.
It followed the arrest of a 19-year-old man from Sunderland, who posted a crass message on Twitter following the deaths of six people on Monday.
Police in North Yorkshire were contacted by social media users who were angry at a Facebook post, apparently made by a woman in York.
North Yorkshire Police tweeted: "We are aware of an offensive comment on social media regarding the #georgesquare tragedy.
"We are assisting @policescotland with enquiries.''
The Sunderland teenager was arrested on suspicion of making a malicious communication and was released on bail, Northumbria Police said.
