A man narrowly escaped death after a car was driven at him in Glasgow’s south side last night.

The 42-year-old was on Ashtree Road when a vehicle came roaring towards him around 8pm.

We understand the victim didn’t need hospital treatment.

Police have charged a 23-year-old man with attempted murder after the incident on Ashtree Road in the Shawlands area of the city.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: " Around 8pm on Friday, 16 August, 2024, we were called to a report of a car having been driven at 42-year-old man in Ashtree Road, Glasgow.

"A 23-year-old man has been arrested and charged in connection with attempted murder and is due to appear in court at a later date."
