Police probe Glasgow knife attack

A 34-year-old man was subjected to a terrifying knife attack in Glasgow on New Year’s Day.

He was assaulted in the Gorbals area just before midnight on Friday 1 January. It’s not known how many people were involved in the incident.

He was taken to Glasgow Royal Infirmary for treatment to his injuries and was later discharged.

Detective Constable James Johnston from Police Scotland said: “This was a frightening incident for the man involved and has left him with serious injuries.

“We were looking to speak to anyone who was near Caledonia Road or Oregon Street around the time of the incident or those with dash cam footage from the area at that time, to come forward.”
