A teen’s been attacked twice by the same group of youths in Greenock.

The 17-year-old was hit on the head during the assault on Inverkip Road at the weekend and made his way into the Inverclyde Royal Hospital for treatment when he was targeted by the same group in the entrance of the A&E department.

The teen was treated for a head injury and later released from hospital.

A police spokesman said: “A 17-year-old sustained a head injury following an assault on Inverkip Road, near to the residential area of the IRH on Saturday 26th November.

“He went to the hospital for treatment around 8pm where he appears to have been followed by a crowd of youths and a further disturbance took place at the entrance to the A&E.

“The youths made off prior to police arrival and enquiries are continuing.”
