three men threatened a man at knifepoint before forcing their way into his house and robbing him.
Three men forced their way into a house and robbed a man of money after threatening him with weapons.
The 56-year-old answered the door of his home in McGregor Path in the Glenboig area of Coatbridge, North Lanarkshire, at about 9.35pm on Sunday when he was confronted by the group.
The men, two of them were armed with bladed weapons, then forced their way inside before escaping with a three-figure sum of cash.
Detective Sergeant Peter Lennon said: "Thankfully the man was not injured, however it was a very frightening experience for him, especially the fact that the men threatened him with weapons.
"At this time officers are checking CCTV and speaking to neighbours to glean information.
"It's a residential area, so it's possible that someone heard or saw something that will assist officers with their inquiries.
The suspects were all white and had scarves covering their faces.
One was described as 5ft 7ins, slim and wearing a dark hooded top. Another was 6ft, of heavy build and wearing an olive green hooded top.
Both men had Scottish accents.
