Police name pedestrian killed in Dumbarton crash

Police have named a pedestrian who died following a crash on the A814 Cardross Road in Dumbarton last weekend as 42 year-old Alan Baker, who was from the local area.

The incident happened at around 11.20pm on Sunday, 10 July 2022. Emergency services attended and Alan was taken to the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital where he died the following day.

Sergeant Lloyd Caven, of the Road Policing Unit said: “Our thoughts are with Alan’s family and friends at this difficult time.

Appeal for information

“Enquiries into the circumstances surrounding the crash are ongoing.

“I am appealing for anyone who may have been in the area at the time and who saw what happened to contact us.

“I would also appeal to anyone who may have dash-cam footage which could assist our investigation to get in touch.”
