Police have named the man who died in a flat in Tollcross on Sunday as Stuart Williams.

The 50 year old was found by police after reports of someone being seriously injured at the Glenisla Street property, where he was pronounced dead at the scene.

His death is currently being treated as suspicious, and a 51 year old man has been arrested in connection with the incident, which occurred around 5.05pm.

Although the enquiry is ongoing, the police are stressing to the public that this is being treated as an isolated incident.

Detective Chief Inspector Graham McCreadie said: “Officers will be carrying out door-to-door enquiries and gathering CCTV and dash-cam footage which could provide the inquiry team with additional information.

“Anyone with any concerns can approach officers at any time."

Enquiries are still on going

He continued: “Although an arrest has been made, we are still carrying out significant enquiries and I would urge anyone with information on this incident to contact us as soon as possible.

“Any witnesses, or anyone who holds any information, no matter how insignificant it may seem, should get in touch with us.”

Police can also be contacted by calling 101 and quoting incident number 2872 of Sunday, 25 June, 2023. Alternatively, Crimestoppers can be contacted anonymously on 0800 555 11.

Detectives have set up an online portal to encourage members of the public to submit information.

The Major Incident Public Portal (MIPP) is a website that gives the public access to a form so they can send information directly to the major incident teams based at the Scottish Crime Campus.
