Police Make Fresh Appeal Over Missing Lenzie Man
Police Scotland is seeking the assistance of the media and the public in trying to trace a man missing from his home in Lenzie. Sixty six year-old Stephen Watt was last seen around 2pm on Sunday 28 December when he was seen in the open ground area known as Lenzie Moss, Lenzie, a popular area for walkers. Stephen is white, around 5 ft 10 inches in height, with a medium build, short grey hair, blue eyes and was clean shaven. He is believed to be wearing either a dark brown fleece jacket or blue coloured cagoule and tan coloured trousers. Stephen has never gone missing before and has recently been worried about the health of his mother and concern is mounting for his wellbeing. Stephen’s family are very worried about him and ask that anyone who has any information as to his whereabouts get in touch with police as soon as possible. Stephen’s children, Adam, Hazel, Heather, and Elise appealed to the public saying “We love our Dad to bits and we just want him home. He’s been feeling a bit low recently which is why the family are so concerned. It’s so close to the New Year and we just want to make sure he gets home safe.” Inspector Iain Greene said: “Extensive enquiries are underway but so far all efforts to locate him have proved unsuccessful. Stephen is fit and able but he is not adequately dressed for this cold weather and we are increasingly concerned for his welfare. "If anyone has seen Stephen or has any knowledge as to his whereabouts please do contact police immediately.” Anyone with information is asked to contact officers at Kirkintilloch Police Officers on the non emergency number, 101.
