Police looking for 'homeless' man in connection with Glasgow assault

Police Scotland have released images of a man they want to speak to in connection with a serious assault in Mitchell Lane in Glasgow. The attack happened around 5pm on Friday 16th February.
A 31 year-old man was assaulted in the city centre before being taken to hospital to be treated for his injuries.
The man police want to speak to is described as being in his mid 20s, wearing a black jacket and a grey hooded jumper underneath with a Nike swoosh across the chest.
He was also wearing black tracksuit bottoms, black and white Nike Air Max trainers and holding a drawstring JD Sports bag.
The man appears to be homeless and he was begging in Mitchell Lane at the time of the incident.
Detective Constable Kieran Guy, Greater Glasgow CID who is dealing with this enquiry said:
“A violent assault like this within Glasgow city centre cannot be tolerated and we seek the assistance of the public in tracking down those responsible. Anyone with information is asked to contact Greater Glasgow Police on 101, quoting incident number 2834 of Friday 16 February 2018. Alternatively contact Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111 where information can be passed anonymously.
