Police lock down North Lanarkshire road following discovery of body
Part of Calder Road in Motherwell is sealed off while officers investigate the death, which is currently being treated as unexplained
A North Lanarkshire road has been sealed off by police following the discovery of a body.
Officers were called to Calder Road in Motherwell at around 8.35am on Saturday.
The road is closed to motorists and pedestrians from Rosevale Crescent to the A721 Bellshill Road, and people are being urged to avoid the area if possible.
The death is being treated as unexplained and extensive enquiries are ongoing.
Pole Scotland says it will have an increased presence in the area while the investigation continues, and anyone with any concerns can approach officers.
