Detectives say there is "mounting concern for the wellbeing" of a teenager missing for over a week.

Robert Thomson was last seen in the area of Motherwell Road near Calder Road in Bellshill at around 8pm on Friday 3rd June.

Police believe the 18 year old may have spent time earlier in the evening in the area of Strathclyde Park with his father.

Robert is described a 6 ft tall, slim build with short dark hair and blue eyes. At the time he was last seen he was wearing a black Lacoste tracksuit top with white stripes on the sleeves, dark tracksuit bottoms, black Nike trainers and possibly a black Nike baseball cap.

Inspector William Jeffrey, Lanarkshire Division, said today:

“Given the length of time that Robert has been missing, there is mounting concern for his wellbeing. His family are understandably anxious that he has disappeared without any kind of contact. Since Robert was first reported missing on the 5th of June, officers have been working to trace Robert safe and well.

“At this time, we are seeking information from the public in order to trace Robert. Anyone with information as to his whereabouts is asked to contact officers at Bellshill police office via the 101 number.”
