Police investigate 'violent' Castlemilk assault

The victim needed hospital treatment for a serious face injury.

A man was left with a serious facial injury following an attack in Castlemilk.

It happened at around 2.45am on Saturday September 17, when police were called to a disturbance on Blaeloch Drive.

The 23-year-old victim was taken to Hairmyres Hospital where he was treated and later released.

Enquiries are ongoing to establish what happened.

Detective Constable Michael MacKinnon, based at Cathcart Police Office said:

“This was a particularly violent attack on this young man following the disturbance in Blaeloch Drive.

"I would urge any witnesses to the incident, or anyone with information that will assist our investigation to contact Cathcart Police Office through 101.
