Police investigate fatal collision with an ambulance

A man has died after his motorbike was involved in a collision with an ambulance in Argyll.

The incident happened on the A83 near Lochgair around 2.30pm on Saturday.

Emergency services were called, but the 61-year-old died at the scene.

Police Scotland closed the road between A816 Lochgilphead and A819 Inverary, with diversions in place.

Sergeant Paul MacPherson from the Divisional Road Policing Unit based at Dumbarton said: ''I would appeal to anyone who was on the A83 around the time of the crash and may have observed the motorcyclist, who had been travelling in a group, to please come forward.

I would also ask any motorists with dash cams to get in touch as they may have footage of the incident of the vehicles travelling on the road beforehand.
