Police identify car in Bothwell hit and run

A 13 year-old boy remains in serious but stable condition in hospital following the incident on Monday.

Police in Lanarkshire are appealing for information to trace the driver of a car which hit a 13 year-old boy in Bothwell on Monday.

It's believed he was hit by a grey coloured Vauxhaul Corsa around 2.30pm neat to the Co-Op on Main Street.

He was taken to Wishaw General Hospital by ambulance with serious injuries, where he remains in a stable condition.

Sergeant Andy Shearer of the Road Policing Unit Motherwell said: “We are keen to trace the driver of the vehicle involved in this incident as soon as possible.

“Enquires have established that the car involved was a five door grey Vauxhall Corsa, which would appear to have sustained damage to the front passenger headlamp.

“I am appealing to anyone who might have information, dashcam footage or knowledge of a damaged grey Vauxhall Corsa to get in touch as soon as possible.

“To the driver, I am also making a direct appeal, do the right thing and come forward.”
