Police hunt Cumbernauld man missing from prison for a year

A hunt is underway for a man who has disappeared from HMP Castle Huntly near Dundee.

A hunt is underway for a man who has disappeared from HMP Castle Huntly near Dundee.

36 year-old Dennis Duffy has breached the terms of his licence after being released.

Officers have been trying to trace him since he was last seen in May 2017 and have been carrying out extensive enquiries in areas he is known to frequent.

It is believed that he resided, in the Seafar area of Cumbernauld.

He is described as white, around 5ft 10 in height and has brown hair and blue eyes.

Police Constable Alan Hendry, Cumbernauld Police Office, said:

“We are currently looking to trace Dennis Duffy, who breached his licence conditions since being release from HMP Castle Huntly.

“We are appealing for anyone who has any information regarding his whereabouts to come forward and contact us.

“We would also emphasise that if seen, members of the public should not approach him and should contact Police Scotland on 101.”
