Police are hunting a man who attacked a woman in Glasgow's Charing Cross and dragged her down the street last month.

The 26 year old was grabbed from behind and dragged down the street as she walked along on Newton Place off Sauchiehall Street around 10.15 on Monday the 22nd.

The suspect then made off in an unknown direction. He is described as white, in his 50s, slim with grey hair and was wearing a long black anorak.

Detective Constable Ashley Convery, Drumchapel CID, said:

“This was a very upsetting experience for the young woman who was heading home. She is very distressed by what happened and indeed it took a few days before she could come to police to say what happened.

“I am very keen to speak to the three men who came to her aid as I am sure it is because of them that this attack didn’t escalate and also they will have information that will assist us greatly in catching the man responsible.”

Any information about the attack can be passed to detectives at Drumchapel CID via 101. Please quote reference number 2639/24/01/18 when calling.
