Police Hunt Armed Robbers After Alexandria Raid

Police are searching for two men who held up a shop in Alexandria last night.

An investigation is under way after an armed robbery at a shop.

Two men made off with a four-figure sum of cash after

threatening two male workers with what police describe

as bladed weapons''.

The suspects entered the Co-operative Food store on

Argyll Street, Alexandria, West Dunbartonshire, at

around 9pm on Monday.

The two members of staff were not injured but they were

left badly shaken.

The first suspect is described as white, 5ft 10in and of

stocky build. He was wearing a dark top and light blue jeans.

The second suspect is white, 6ft and of stocky build.

He was wearing dark clothing.

Detective Sergeant Stuart Grainger said: Both men

had their faces covered during this robbery so inquiries

are ongoing to identify them.''
