Police find body in search for missing Bishopbriggs pensioner
A body has been recovered by police searching for a missing man.
Matthew Bowie, 83, was last seen outside his home in Bishopbriggs, East Dunbartonshire, on January 23.
Police Scotland said a man's body was recovered in a wooded area in Bishopbriggs at about 10am on Wednesday.
The force said formal identification is still to take place but it is believed to be Mr Bowie.
A police statement added: The death is not being treated as suspicious, however a post-mortem examination will be carried out in due course to establish the exact cause of death.
Matthew's family are aware and a report will be submitted to the procurator fiscal.''
