Police searching for missing Dalry man George Winters

George is believed to have travelled to Greenock on Sunday night.

Police in Ayrshire are searching for a Dalry man who was reported missing over the weekend.

Officers are appealing to the public as they attempt to trace the whereabouts of 48-year-old George Winters.

George was reported missing from the Aitken Street area of Dalry on Sunday 2 July, and is believed to have travelled to Greenock.

He was last spotted at around 7:15pm when he ought a takeaway in a New Street Dalry.

Police have information to believe that George drover his grey Peugot 307 sport to Greenock and parked at the Esplanade. His registration is SH56 UPG.

The 48-year-old Ayrshire man is described as around 5ft 8ins, and has dark receding hair. It is not known what he was wearing when he disappeared.

Police are asking for the publics help to trace George and are asking anyone with information to come forward.

Inspector Michael Cowan said: “Our enquiries are ongoing to trace George. This is out of character and we are becoming increasingly concerned for his welfare.

“We are asking anyone who may have seen George or know where he is to get in touch.

“If anyone saw his car being driven in the Greenock area or has dash-cam or private CCTV from the Esplanade area of the town that could help with our efforts to trace him then please also get in touch.

Anyone who can assist is asked to call Police Scotland on 101, quoting reference number 0030 of Monday, 3 July 2023.
