Police arrest man in Strathaven Park death inquiry

A man has been arrested and is being held in police custody in connection with the death of another man at a park in South Lanarkshire.

Jason McCue, 43, was found seriously injured in John Hastie Park in Strathaven at 1.30pm on Tuesday.

He was treated by paramedics at the scene but died of his injuries.

A spokesman for Police Scotland said: “A 50-year-old man has been arrested and is presently detained in police custody in connection with the death.

“A report will be submitted to the procurator fiscal.'
