A 34-year-old man was taken to hospital in a critical condition after being stabbed in an attack involving four people in the city's Milton area.
The incident, which the police treated as attempted murder, took place on Ashgill Road at about 12.25am on Saturday.
Officers said the injured man had just been dropped off in a taxi in Balmore Road when he was attacked following an argument.
A Police Scotland spokeswoman said on Tuesday: "A 27-year-old man has been arrested and is presently detained in police custody in connection with the incident.
"A full report will be sent to the procurator fiscal.''
