Police appeal after wilful fire in Bridge of Weir
Emergency crews rushed to the Kilbarchan Road area of the town late last night.
Officers have started an investigation after a wilful raising in Bridge of Weir last night.
They were called out to reports of a blaze in the Kilbarchan Road area around 11.25pm.
It was extinguished by the Scottish Fire and Rescue Service but police say enquiries are ongoing.
Detective Sergeant Kenny Taggart, of Paisley CID said “ The fire was set alight within a residential area and caused considerable distress & alarm to nearby residents.
"Thankfully, there were no reports of any injuries.”
“I am appealing to anyone who heard or saw anything suspicious in the local area to contact us.
"I would ask residents in the Bridge of Weir area and surrounding villages who have video doorbell, CCTV or possible dash cam footage to review it, as it may have captured something that can assist our enquiries”.
