Police appeal after shots fired in a Glasgow street

Detectives are continuing enquiries and appealing for information after a shots were fired at a house in Clarkston, Glasgow on Friday 24 June 2016.

In the early hours this morning, police were called to a report of a firearm discharged at the front window of a house in Dorian Drive, Clarkston. No one was injured, however one window at the property received extensive damage.

Detective Sergeant Dougie Stevenson of Pollok Police Office said today:

"Fortunately the 49 year-old man who lives in the house, and his two daughters aged 20 and 25 years were uninjured.

"Police enquiries are at an early stage to establish a potential motive for this crime, however, a thorough investigation will be carried out into the circumstances, and to trace whoever is responsible.

"Local officers have been carrying out door to door enquiries and are gathering CCTV images from the local area to gather more information.

"Crimes of this nature are very rare, however I can understand the concerns that the public may have. I would like to reassure the local community that there are extra police patrols in the area, and anyone with concerns should speak to police.

"I would urge any witnesses to this crime, or anyone who saw anything suspicious in the area to contact police as soon as possible by contacting Pollok Police Office through 101. Alternatively CRIMESTOPPERS can be contacted on 0800 555 111, where anonymity can be maintained.”
