Police appeal after serious assault in Rutherglen

33 year old man attacked by two men with weapons in a flat on Saturday morning

Detectives are appealing for information following a serious assault in the Rutherglen area.

Two men with weapons attacked a 33 year old man inside a flat in Greenhills Road at around 0700 hours on Saturday 27 February 2016.

He was taken to the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital for treatment to serious facial injuries.

The suspects are described as in their early 20’s with short hair, possibly shaved at the sides, and wearing dark clothing.

Detective Constable Grant Robertson from Cambuslang CID said: “This was a violent assault and the victim will be scarred for life as a result.

“We know that the two men involved left the flat after the attack and made off in an unknown direction.

“I would appeal to anyone who may have seen these two men acting suspiciously in the Greenhills Road area or surrounding streets around the time of the incident to get in touch.
