Police Appeal For Missing Berwick Woman

NORTHUMBRIA Police have extended their search for a missing Berwick woman to Ireland after it's thought she may have contacts there.

23 year-old Katie Grout hasn't been seen since she left home in Goldstone at 7am yesterday.

The young mum's car was spotted on the M8 yesterday near Harthill Service Station.

Her mother Alison Meakin - says it's a difficult time...

She is described as white, 5 feet 5" tall, very slim build, with shoulder length brown hair with a small scar under her chin.

She was wearing black and white checked trousers, black long sleeved top and grey boots. Katie left home driving her silver Vauxhall Corsa car registration DY61 HJJ.

She was spotted near Harthill Service Station on the M8 and is believed to be travelling to Glasgow.

Police are concerned for her welfare and are carrying out enquiries to locate Katie.

Officers are appealing for Katie to make contact with them, or anyone who recognises her to call police straightaway.
