Police are continuing enquiries after a man was assaulted in a taxi in the Battlefield area of Glasgow in the early hours of Sunday 7th February.

Police are continuing enquiries after a man was assaulted in a taxi in the Battlefield area of Glasgow in the early hours of Sunday 7th February.

At around 12:40am, a 57-year-old man and his 57-year-old wife were stopped at traffic lights on Battlefield Road, at the junction with Cathcart Road, when a man opened the taxi door.

The man repeatedly struck the 57-year-old man with a heavy object before running off.

He was last seen heading towards the old Victoria Infirmary.

The suspect is described as in his 30's, around 5ft 6in, and slim build with short dark hair.
