A 14-year-old boy suffered a broken wrist after he was struck by a car in a hit-and-run incident. He was trying to cross Ayr Road, near to its junction with Firwood Road, in Newton Mearns, East Renfrewshire, when he was hit at around 8am yesterday. The driver of the car, which is described as a small, dark-coloured 4x4, paused for a short time then drove off along Ayr Road. The teenager was taken to the Victoria Infirmary in Glasgow where he was treated for a broken wrist.
