Police appeal for witnesses after serious assault in Clydebank

A 43 year old man is recovering after a serious assault in Clydebank in the early hours of Sunday.

The incident happened at around 4.30am, on Whitecrook Street, after which the man was taken to the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital for treatment.

A 45 year old man has been arrested in connection with the assault.

Police are appealing for witnesses to come forward.

Detective Constable Rachael Mersey said: “Our enquiries are ongoing to establish the full circumstances of what happened and we are appealing for help.

“Anyone who was in the area at the time and saw what happened is asked to get in touch.

“We are also asking people to check their CCTV and if they have captured anything that could assist with our investigation then to please make contact with officers.”
