Police appeal after two armed robberies within hours of each other

Police are appealing for information following two armed robberies within hours of each other.

A shop in Bearsden and a bookies in Clydebank were both held up by a man with a gun within hours of each other last night.

In the first incident, the man entered a shop in Ledi Drive in Bearsden, threatening staff with the weapon and making off with a three-figure sum of cash at around 7:15pm.

The second raid occurred at around 9:15pm when he entered Ladbrokes Bookmakers in Glasgow Road in Clydebank and threatened staff. The suspect also made off with a three figure sum of cash.

No-one was injured and no shots were fired in either incident.

Police tell us he was white, six foot tall with a local accent and shaved dark hair.

He was wearing a parka jacket, dark jeans and dark gloves.

Detectives are going through CCTV pictures and are also appealing from witnesses
