Two men have been arrested and charged after housebreaking incidents, which resulted in thousands of pounds worth of jewellery, and a car being stolen.

The incidents happened on Tuesday 26 November, when a BMW car worth around £85,000 was stolen from an address in Elderslie, Renfrewshire, and on Friday 29 November when jewellery and cash were stolen from a property in Duthie Park, Glasgow.

Alongside the BMW, a watch worth around £13,650 was stolen from Elderslie.

The jewellery taken in Glasgow was worth around £60,000, alongside £4,000 of cash.

Detective Inspector Ross Jamieson said: “Whenever someone’s home is broken into the impact is considerable, leaving people feeling unsafe. It also has an impact on the local community.

“We are determined to disrupt the activity of those involved and bring those responsible to justice.

“Anyone with information about this kind of crime should call Police Scotland on 101, or make a call anonymously to Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.”
