Firefighters tackle overnight blaze in Clydebank
Up to 30 firefighters and nearly a dozen appliances attended the fire at the Play Drome
Firefighters are continuing to battle a large blaze at a former leisure centre in Clydebank.
The Scottish Fire and Rescue Service said it was called to reports of a fire at the Play Drome on Chalmers Street around 2.20am on Wednesday morning.
Nine fire appliances were still in attendance more than five hours later.
An SFRS spokeswoman said: “Operations control dispatched nine fire engines to tackle the blaze.
“Crews are still on the scene and are expected to remain there for some time.”
There have been no reports of injuries so far. Bus routes have been disrupted in the area and some local roads remain closed.
