A charter flight from Mallorca to Inverness has landed at Glasgow Airport after declaring an emergency.

The AlbaStar flight reported the problem while it was near Manchester, but there's no word yet about what happened.

The pilot had originally been heading for Edinburgh, but landed at Glasgow instead at 9:17am.

A Glasgow Airport spokesman said:

“The AlbaStar Palma to Inverness flight landed at 0917.

“The aircraft was met by our own fire services as is standard procedure and all 185 passengers and crew disembarked safely and without incident.”

We'll bring you more on what happened on board when we get it.
