Pizza delivery driver robbed by woman in Paisley

The 24 year old was about to drive off when a woman jumped into the car and threatened her last Thursday night.

Detectives are hunting a woman who robbed a delivery driver in Paisley on Thursday the 17th November. A 24 year-old woman, a delivery driver for Papa Grills on Causeyside Street, was returning to her vehicle with a number of deliveries - as she entered the car a woman jumped in and threatened her.

The 24 year-old woman then fled the vehicle and returned to the restaurant to seek assistance from colleagues. The suspect then fled the scene in an unknown direction with a three figure sum of cash which was contained within the car. The 24 year-old woman was not injured but has been left very shaken by the robbery. The suspect is described as a woman around the age of 35 to 45 years old. She is described as being around 5 foot tall, with a Scottish accent and a wrinkled face. At the time of the incident, she was described as wearing dark clothing and a black puffer style jacket with black fur at the neck. Detective Constable John Sharkey is leading the investigation. He said today: “We are carrying out extensive enquiries in order to trace the woman responsible for the robbery. We have been working to ascertain available CCTV and have speaking to a number of individuals in the area. “At this time we are seeking information from the public to help trace the suspect. I would appeal to anyone who was on Causeyside Street around the time of the robbery to contact police if they have any information. “You may have witnessed the incident, or you may have been a passing motorist who witnessed a woman running away from Causeyside Street.
