Pervert caught with 1,650 indecent images of children in Partick jailed

A man caught with over 1,600 indecent images of children in his home in Partick has been jailed for a year.
Duncan Grant, 30, was found with images in a hidden folder on his phone as well as a hard drive and a computer.
Prosecutor Adele Macdonald told Glasgow Sheriff Court 1,650 still and moving images of children were recovered. They features girls aged between six months and 14 years old.
Grant - who has a previous conviction for a similar offence - pled guilty to taking or permitting to be taking indecent images of children.
He also admitted possessing indecent images of children between June and September 2019.
Craig Grimes, defending, told the court Grant was sacked at his job in a city centre finance company following press coverage of an earlier hearing.
Sheriff John McCormick said: “Standing the number and nature of the images there is no alternative to a custodial sentence.”
