74-year-old woman hit by car while crossing street in Drumchapel.

Police and ambulance called to scene of collision on Sunday evening.

An elderly woman has been knocked down in Drumchapel. The 74-year-old escaped with minor injuries after being hit while crossing the road early yesterday evening.

According to Police Scotland, it happened around 5:10pm on Sunday. Several patrol units were called to the scene, who blocked traffic flows for nearly 1 hour while an ambulance crew delivered first aid.

The incident took place near local landmark The Goodyear Club, causing temporary diversions.

The driver wasn't hurt.

In a statement Police Scotland said: "The pedestrian, a 74-year-old woman, was taken to hospital as a precaution."

It is the second crash on the road in the last month.
