Pensioner dies after being struck by Mercedes in Glasgow

He was rushed to hospital where he later died.

An 86-year-old man has died after being struck by a Mercedes GLE in Glasgow earlier this month.

It happened around 5.20pm on Stamperland Crescent at Clarkston Toll Roundabout on Friday May 17.

The pedestrian was rushed to Queen Elizabeth University Hospital where he died on Thursday May 23.

No one else was injured.

Road Policing Sergeant Scott Gourlay said: “Our thoughts are with the family of the man who has died, and everyone involved.

“Enquiries are continuing to establish the full circumstances and anyone who has not already spoken to officers and who can assist is asked to call Police Scotland on 101, quoting incident number 3034 of Friday, 17 May, 2024.”
