79-year-old pedestrian dies following collision with car in Uddingston

A pedestrian involved in a collision with a car in Uddingston yesterday has died.
The 79-year-old was pronounced dead at the scene
A Police Scotland spokesperson: “Police received report of a crash involving a car and a pedestrian on the B7071 Glasgow Road at Belmont Avenue, Uddingston, around 11am on Wednesday, 17 May, 2023.

“Emergency services attended, however the 79-year-old male pedestrian was pronounced dead at the scene.
“A 28-year-old man was arrested in connection with road traffic offences and released pending further enquiries.
“The road was re-opened around 4.20pm and enquiries are ongoing to establish the full circumstances of the crash.”
