A man has been receiving treatment after a crash involving a car and pedestrian in North Lanarkshire.

Emergency services were called to Carnbroe Road in Coatbridge around 12.25am yesterday.

The 42-year-old male pedestrian was taken to hospital.

A white Kia Ceed with a black roof fled the scene and enquiries are ongoing to trace the vehicle and driver.

Officers say it is likely to have damage to the front.

Road Policing Constable Fraser McEwan said: “I’m appealing to anyone who was in the Carnbroe area at the time and may be able to help with our investigation to come forward.

“Did you see a white Kia Ceed with a black roof? Have you seen a vehicle matching this description with damage to the front? Do you have private CCTV, doorbell footage or dashcam which could help?

“Anyone with information on the collision or the vehicle is urged to contact us on 101 quoting reference 0061 of 5 August, 2024.”
