Male pedestrian killed following car crash on residential Glasgow street

Road policing officers are appealing for information following a fatal crash in Penilee, Glasgow.

Around 3.35am on Thursday, 22 August, 2024 officers were called to a report of a crash involving a red Nissan Qashqai and a pedestrian on Bowfield Drive.

Emergency services attended and the pedestrian, a 45-year-old man, was taken to Queen Elizabeth University Hospital where he later died.

The driver of the Qashqai was not injured.

The road was closed for around 9 hours while investigations were carried out.

Sergeant Ally Wright said: “Our thoughts are with the family and friends of the man who died at this very difficult time.

“Enquiries to establish the full circumstances are ongoing and we are appealing for anyone with information that could assist to please get in touch.

“I would also urge anyone in the area with dash-cam to check their footage and pass anything of note on to us.”
