Pedestrian critical in hospital after being hit by a car in Glasgow

The driver was uninjured after late night incident

A man's critically ill in hospital after being hit by a car in Glasgow last night

The 32-year-old man was walking on Cowcaddens Road, between its junctions with Cambridge Street and Hope Street, around 10pm when he was struck by a Ford Ecosport.

Police and Ambulance attended and he was taken to the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital where staff describe his condition as critical.

The female driver of the car was uninjured. Police are appealing for witnesses.

Sergeant Jack Swindells of the Road Policing Unit based at Helen Street, Glasgow said: “Our investigation into the circumstances surrounding this incident is ongoing.

“I would urge any witnesses or anyone with information that may assist to contact us. I would also urge anyone driving on the road around the time of the crash with dashcam footage to get in touch.”
