91-year old pedestrian seriously injured following crash in Greenock

A 91-year old man has been left seriously injured following a crash with a car in Greenock.

It happened on Sunday 23 May just after 11am when the pensioner was left injured following a collision with a white Ford Fiesta, which was being driven west on Union Street.

Emergency services attended and the man was taken to hospital with serious injuries, where he is receiving treatment. The 80-year old man driving the car was uninjured.

The road was closed until around 1.30pm on Sunday.

Sergeant John Bradford from Police Scotland’s Road Policing Unit, said: "We’re investigating the circumstances of this collision and would ask anyone who saw what happened to get in touch.

"Anyone who may have relevant dash cam footage of the pedestrian or vehicle immediately prior to, or during, the incident, is asked to provide this to officers to help our investigation."
