Police have appealed for the public’s help in finding a man from Croftfoot who hasn’t been seen for five days.

36 year-old man Paul Sweeney left a friend's house on Ashcroft Drive around 5pm on Friday 20 October.

Family and friends haven’t seen or heard from him since and he was reported missing to police yesterday.

Paul is around 6 ft 2, with brown hair, hazel eyes and a scar on the left hand side of his face. When he was last seen he was wearing a white vest top.

When Paul was last seen he was wearing a zipped, grey waist-length, fitted jacket with patch pockets on the chest and waist area, dark blue jeans and white Adidas trainers.

Extensive enquiries are underway to locate Paul, but attempts to find him have so far proved unsuccessful.

Paul has recently been dealing with some personal problems and his family say they just want to know he is safe and well.

He often shops in Rutherglen and has family and friends in the Croftfoot and Castlemilk areas.

Sergeant Jonathan Watters said: “We will be looking to see if CCTV footage can provide any additional information on where Paul has gone.

“We are also speaking to his family and friends for any detail which could assist us in locating him.

“It is highly unusual for him not to be in contact with family and friends and they are understandably concerned for him. If anyone has seen Paul or has any information or knowledge as to his whereabouts, please contact us.”
