Flylolo has cancelled flights this weekend departing from Glasgow Airport, affecting around 900 passengers.

The airline was meant to be taking passengers to Tenerife three times over Friday and Saturday as well a flight to Lanzarote on Sunday.

Glasgow Airport's confirmed the flights are not set to go ahead anymore.

A Glasgow Airport spokesman said: "We were made aware tonight that flights planned by operator FlyLolo to Tenerife South and Arrecife in Lanzarote this weekend will not go ahead.

"We would ask all FlyLolo passengers affected not to travel to the airport and to contact the operator direct for further information."

The flights affected are:

· Friday 11th October 0830 GLA to Tenerife South

· Saturday 12th October 0700 GLA to Tenerife South

· Saturday 12th October 1810 GLA to Tenerife South

· Sunday 13th October 0900 GLA to Arrecife

The airport's estimated around 230 passengers were due on each flight.

Passengers have taken to social media about the news.

Christina uploaded a video of the recorded message Flylolo had when passengers tried to phone them last night.

John Paul also took to Twitter to show an email which has been sent to him by the firm's CEO, Paul Dendle, saying the entire programme from Glasgow Airport has been cancelled.

Kilwinning Rangers manager Christopher Strain said his family's travel plans have been cancelled with less than two days of notice.

Flylolo has been contacted for a statement.
