Parents across Glasgow and the West warned to plan for school chaos next week

South Lanarkshire and Inverclyde Councils have confirmed classes will be affected.

Parents across Glasgow and the West are being asked to make childcare arrangements ahead of planned teacher strikes next week.

Members of the SSTA and NASUWT unions are walking out on Wednesday December 7 and Thursday December 8.

Inverclyde

Inverclyde Council has confirmed the industrial action won't affect primary schools, early years establishments or ASN provision.

However, a number of secondary schools will be closed to S1, 2 and 3 pupils - a full list of the disruption is on the website.

South Lanarkshire

Bosses at South Lanarkshire Council have told Clyde 1 schools may be affected and parents will be advised what it means for their school as soon as possible.

Other councils are still to confirm what the industrial action will mean for parents and pupils.

City of Aberdeen; Angus; Aberdeenshire; Clackmannanshire; Dundee City; City of Edinburgh; East Lothian; Falkirk; Fife; Midlothian; Moray; Perth and Kinross; Scottish Borders; Stirling; West Lothian
